Innivee Strategies is pleased to announce the release of the New York School for the Deaf Superintendent prospectus and the opening of the application period. The prospectus document summarizes the organization, its programs, and what our school is looking for in its next leader.
Founded in 1817, NYSD, also known as Fanwood, is the second oldest school for the deaf in the United States. NYSD is a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization operated in cooperation with the New York State Education Department.
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall operations and supervision of the school, its educational programs, budget, staff, and facilities. The organizational prospectus, which can be found here, goes into depth on the desired leadership profile, which is based on focus groups and surveys conducted with the NYSD community. The leadership profile touches on seven key themes that NYSD is seeking in its next leader, all of which are described in depth in the prospectus:
