Mt. San Antonio College has announced the selection of Dr. Liann Osbourne as the next Director for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services. She began her role on August 15, 2022.

Dr. Liann Osborne is a transformational leader with education and counseling experience and a passion for social justice. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from California State University, East Bay. Dr. Osborne also earned an MA in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, East Bay, and an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Francisco State University. Prior to her appointment at Mt. San Antonio College, Dr. Osborne served as the first Black Deaf Career Technical Education principal and Ethnic Studies advisor at the California School for the Deaf, located in Fremont, California.

The search for the next DHHS Director began on May 3, 2022. The Mt. SAC community developed a leader profile to evaluate all applicants, candidates, and finalists. A search committee consisting of faculty, staff, and students, interviewed the first round of candidates and recommended finalists to the Mt. SAC leadership team. Innivee Strategies, Inc., a Deaf-owned and led organizational and leadership development company, served as the search consultant to the college for this position.

Dean of Access and Wellness, Dr. Malia Flood, stated, “Mt. SAC is excited to welcome Dr. Osborne as the next Director of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. Dr. Osborne brings a wealth of experience and a passion for student success to uplift and champion Mt SAC’s DHH program and students. She joins a dedicated group of professionals at the DHH Center. I look forward to working with her and the DHH team to provide Deaf and hard-of-hearing students with an exceptional educational experience.”

CEO of Innivee Strategies, Shane Feldman, stated “It was a pleasure learning about the incredible programs and services that Mt. SAC provides in support of the Deaf and hard of hearing community. The program is unique not only in the state of California but in the nation through its dedicated services in its DHH Program. Liann Osborne is a transformational leader, and we are excited about its program’s future and its students’ continued success after graduation. Innivee Strategies wishes to thank Mt.
