“Valuable Members of Our Campus Community”
Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), one of the largest community colleges in California with nearly 60,000 students and 260 degree and certificate programs, announces that it is working with Innivee Strategies, Inc., a deaf-led and operated organizational and leadership development consulting firm, as part of its commitment to improving the college’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) program. Innivee Strategies will lead the process of strengthening community relations and seeking a new Director of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.
“Mt. SAC Deaf, hard of hearing, and DeafBlind students, staff, and faculty members are valuable members of our campus community. It behooves us as a college community to learn more about how to service and support our DHH students,” said Audrey Yamagata-Noji, Ph.D., Vice President of Student Services. “That’s what we’re hoping to accomplish with the assistance of Innivee Strategies.”
A Two-Phase Process
This collaboration will take place in two phases. The first phase, restoring community relations, will bring Mt. SAC stakeholders together and create a space where community members can share their concerns and express their hopes for the future. The ultimate goal of this phase is to ensure that all parties have a safe space to share their feelings and to influence the trajectory of Mt. SAC’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing programs and services.
The Mt. SAC Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program Director search, the second phase, will launch in the spring semester and will incorporate stakeholder input gathered through the initial part of the project. In its third year of conducting executive search services, Innivee Strategies specializes recruiting C-level and executive-level talent in the Deaf and hard of hearing community and building a search process that is community- and data-driven throughout.

Alex Jones has been involved in higher education for 24 years. He currently works full-time at Rochester Institute of Technology Student Affairs with a focus on the Center for Residence Life. Alex works with faculty, staff, and students at every level. He has a B.S. in management and M.S. in Human Resources Development with an emphasis in performance management and leadership that aligns strategy, goals, mission and vision. He has a professional coaching certification from the International Coaching Federation certified training school. Alex has also completed Conflict Management Coaching through CINERGY Coaching. He has worked with individuals and business clients through individual and group coaching sessions. Alex has owned and operated several businesses ranging from real estate to coaching. He also has experience in the area of diversity and inclusion through his involvement as chair of NTID Diversity Group as well as other committees working with faculty, staff, and students for 15+ years.
Owner of Elizabeth Stone Conflict Consulting LLC, Elizabeth “Liz” Stone is a conflict management practitioner with 20+ years of experience in higher education, non-profit and government-affiliated settings; a proven leader who is committed to the principles of equity & belonging. A certified mediator with certificates from Harvard University, Program on Negotiation and Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. Also a certified coach from the Coach Diversity Institute. Currently, she is the University Ombuds for Gallaudet University, a confidential and informal conflict management resource for the University community members. Liz received her Master’s in Public Administration from American University and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Rochester Institute of Technology. She hails from San Diego, CA and is currently living in the DC Metro area.
SooHyun Tak immigrated to the United States from South Korea at age 4 with her family for a better life. She has over 20+ years in the fields of advocacy and counseling services for deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind individuals. She has worked in a variety of settings, ranging from a youth residential treatment center to community mental health and advocacy agencies. Aside from her current role as a graduate school lecturer in counseling and an Ombuds facilitator trained in restorative practices at Gallaudet University, SooHyun is an independent consultant, facilitator, presenter, and trainer in diversity, equity, and inclusion related topics within organizational developmental framework. She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Gallaudet University.
